The Vision of the Spearheads

To the Spearheads,

A vision came to me that I must share with you. It’s where this movement all started. I pray it speaks to you and encourages you to be a part of a spearhead movement for our Lord.

On a cool, quiet Saturday evening in September, I found myself deep in prayer.

Suddenly, I felt Him show me this picture in the Spirit, a vision that would give me purpose and a mission for the coming hour. How can I begin to describe what this vision was like? It did not feel like a dream or a movie being shown on a wide screen. It was as real as anything I have ever experienced. I was watching and yet I was involved in it at the same time.

Here is what I saw:

I was riding a horse through what felt like a dark wasteland. I was suited up in a dazzling coat of armour and held a long spear out in front of me. This giant weapon must have weighed 100 pounds or more, and I knew that its great size was matched by its importance. As I looked down the spear in front of me, I could see that its tip was engulfed by a great, vibrant flame.

Further out in front of me was a mighty golden kingdom, and I knew this was my destination. I glanced behind me and saw hundreds of other horsemen in formation, all carrying spears of their own, and all pointing forward at the golden kingdom, which seemed to glow and shine in the otherwise dark and drab atmosphere. My heart welled up in my chest as I watched the spectacle unfold all around me.

We were all riding forward with a sense of tremendous urgency. Clearly, we were on an important mission. However, between us and this kingdom of light were throngs of lifeless people who seemed to be wandering aimlessly across the wasteland. Deep sadness showed on their faces, and they seemed to have no idea where they were going. We just kept riding through them as we drew closer to our destination.

Then something powerful happened. As the horsemen rode through these wandering men and women and touched them with their fiery spears, these lifeless souls joined the ranks of the horsemen. Having received their own horses, their own suits of armour and their own spears with fire, they now rode with us toward the great kingdom.

What a thrill it was to see those lost souls transformed into warriors for the Lord. Their blank, confused looks were gone, replaced by expressions of courage, purpose, and determination.

Overjoyed by what was happening, I lifted my spear to the sky. Several of my companions did the same. And that was when everything changed. The flames that engulfed the tips of our spears began to sputter and smoke as if they were about to go out. We were still riding through these wandering souls, yet none of them were being transformed or added to the formation. I noticed that my speed had slowed considerably as I rode toward the golden kingdom. It was like a dream where you are trying as hard as you can to run but seem to be stuck to the same spot. I could feel a strong force pushing against me, and confusion began to rise in me. I had no idea what I was supposed to do, but then it came to me that I should hold my spear back out in front of me, as it had been when I started out on this journey. All around me, my fellow warriors did the same, and as they did their spears flamed back to life. We rode with haste once more and many souls were transformed into warriors for the Lord.

As the vision faded away, I found myself on my knees in my prayer room. “Lord,” I asked, “what does this mean?”

He answered quickly, telling me that He was about to raise up an army of warriors who would act as the spearhead for a great movement of the Holy Spirit. The flame that had engulfed the spear tips in my vision represented the fire of the Holy Spirit. Juts like the spear, as long as the Holy Spirit was out in front, leading us, many who were touched by the fire would be added to the Kingdom of God.

But there was a warning:

“When you lifted the spear and it was no longer out in front of you, you were trying to do things in your own power, without the Spirit of the Lord leading you. When you do this, your energy will dissipate and you will find yourself struggling to move forward. You will not be able to win souls for the kingdom, and many will fall away. You must have the spear and the fire of the Holy Spirit out in front of you at all times.”

I stood up from where I was praying and felt both joy and the heavy weight of responsibility on my shoulders. I knew that God had not given me this vision for my personal edification, but because He wanted and expected me to share it with others. I felt humbled and blessed to think that God had entrusted me with this important word for His people. I understood how Jeremiah felt when God called him to speak, and he said, “Ah Sovereign Lord, I do not know how to speak: I am only a child.” God responded by telling him not to be afraid, for “I am with you and will rescue you.”

I also remembered very clearly the words I had received from my dear brothers some six months earlier. This vision was showing me the fulfilment of those prophecies. There was going to be a spearhead movement of the Holy Spirit. It would cut through the things of the world and allow others to find and follow the route to the Kingdom of God.

As I thought about what the Lord had shown me, I felt the Spirit infusing me with zeal. How wonderful it would be to bring clarity, faith, and mission to a people who would see mighty things in the days to come. My faith had been stirred.

This is not just a vision for me. For all who are reading this, feeling their spirit stirred, this is for you. Let the Spirit of the Lord lead you, as encounter and knowledge of Him collide – You will see a fresh zeal and commissioning over your life into the days He has prepared for you.

It’s time to rise. Be the Spearhead.

Yours faithfully,

Shannon.
