  • Exhortation to the Spearheads

    To the Spearheads,

This is your hour to discern, your call to respond. Do not shrink back into what was familiar and comfortable for you when Heaven is inviting you to step into what is next. Step forward with courage, with clarity, and with conviction. Let knowledge of the Lord lead you to encounter the Spirit of the Lord. May this word be one that doesn’t allow you to stay the same, but moves you and multiplies through you. Remember that history is not shaped by those who hesitate, but by those who recognise the time and run to do what God is calling them to do.

    Take Up Your Spear

So run. Run with what the Lord has spoken to you, run with what He has put on your life, and don’t stop until what has been revealed becomes reality. Be part of the reality of many riding towards the kingdom with spears of fire in their hands!

We have been living in an age of smug self-reliance, a time when we believe we can get by without the indwelling, anointing, and infilling presence of the Spirit of the Lord. Large sections of church congregations have been in attendance-mode for far too long, leaving it up to a group of Spirit-filled saints to go out and make disciples. Every believer should be actively involved in the work of the church, and I believe the day is coming when this will be so.

Our culture has been semi-tolerant of Spirit-filled churches, yet without believing in any of it. However, I believe there is a time coming where no one will be ignorant of the Spirit of the Lord. They will either choose to receive Him or reject Him knowingly. There is a time coming where the evidence for the existence of the Spirit of the Lord will be so strong that no one anywhere can disregard the fact that God is alive and moving. People will either be refreshed by this outpouring or see it as a rebuke which will harden their hearts.

Isaiah 28:9-13 speaks of this. The prophet tells us that the Spirit of the Lord came to teach, to give rest to the weary, yet people won’t receive the rest He offers. They will choose not to listen and therefore receive it as a rebuke to their way of life. We are moving into days of clarity, when truth is breaking out, what has been hidden is being revealed, and confusion is being washed away. I pray that everyone reading this will have ears to hear what the Lord is saying.

    The Latter Rains

We are in the days of the latter rains. Ancient culture would speak of the autumn rains and the spring rains, the early and the latter. We see this in Deuteronomy 11, where Moses says that God will bring the rains to the obedient — the early rains for their sowing of seed and the late rains for the harvest that will then produce oil and wine.

God has been preparing so many people over the last season, like the seeds in the soil. You have received what you needed to grow and mature. It’s not easy. My own experience is that growth comes suddenly through challenges and hardships. Yes, I grow through spiritual discipline over time, too, but it seems that trials cause me to grow faster and stronger.

Imagine the seed in the soil. It’s covered by the seed coat, the hard outer covering that protects the seed from insects, disease, injury and drying out. Hence, the breaking out of that coat brings vulnerability to outside conditions. This is the only way for the seed to grow into its maturity. The germination happens in the early rains; it feeds the seed in order for the breakthrough. Some seed coats are so hard that the water has to slowly soften and break down the outer covering in order to start feeding the seed. I believe this has been happening to many across the globe in the body of Christ. Now we are seeing the quiet sprouting of many seeds in preparation for what the Lord is going to do next.

The moisture from the latter rains allows the seed to continue its rapid expansion, transitioning from a seed to a developed plant. Many of you are undergoing this process right now. It feels fast, it feels uncomfortable, it feels like you’re breaking. However, you are not breaking — you are breaking out! The old protective layer is gone, the nourishment from the Lord has softened what was once there to protect you until time was right. You are rapidly developing for the Lord! The latter rains will produce some of the greatest disciples of Christ this world has yet to see. A spearhead movement for Him in the last days.

Both tares and wheat are sprouting, those who have been refreshed and those who have been rebuked. Remember, the Lord told us that when the tares and the wheat have come to their fullness in harvest season, the reapers will come to collect the wheat and burn the tares (Matthew 13).

There can no longer be any neglecting of the Word or the Spirit. There can be no pendulum swing to either side, no seeking one and not the other. “I am calling my body to rise up from its slumber,” says the Lord. The season and age of ignorance must come to an end. The Lord is reviving His body as the rains come before He receives His bride.

You must spearhead a deeper relationship with the Lord in both Word and Spirit. This will flow out from you, and you will begin to spearhead a move of the Spirit of the Lord in the world around you. It starts with you and then moves to those around you. Those who are asleep to what the Lord is doing will miss out, those who choose self before Him will be tossed around in the days to come. There will be events before our very eyes that will sift the world as we know it. My prayer is that you have taken these words to heart and strengthened yourself in Christ so that you may be found refreshed and ready.

He is coming with a blessing for those who wish to be refreshed by Him, yet this will cause division, as some will receive it as a rebuke. We will feel this in our families, our relationships and even in the Church, as there will be a division between those who are filled with the Spirit of the Lord and those who are not. Those the Son has set free will be free indeed, and those who choose against what the Spirit is doing will find it may be too late and realise they were never really free.

Our Lord is calling out to us. He says:

“I am a gracious God. Have I not been patient before you? Have I not sent my Word and my Spirit ahead of you? When the great day comes, may you be found worshipping in both! To those whose lives have become too busy to serve My Kingdom but claim to know Me as King, you have little time to re-order your house and work the fields. For the farmer does not tell the field what season it is in, the season tells the farmer how he must work the field. Can you not see the season that is here now?”

I love this passage from The Message:

Then he (Jesus) turned to the crowd: “When you see clouds coming in from the west, you say, ‘Storm’s coming’ — and you’re right. And when the wind comes out of the south, you say, ‘This’ll be a hot one’ — and you’re right. Frauds! You know how to tell a change in the weather, so don’t tell me you can’t tell a change in the season, the God-season we’re in right now.” (Luke 12:54-56)

Can you not feel the knocking on your heart to activate the graces that are upon your life? Can you not feel the knocking on your heart to seek an encounter with the Lord? Can you not feel the knocking on your heart to open the Word more than you ever have before? May the spearhead movement embrace such knocking and receive all that the Lord is pouring out.

Is there not a people with a waking chance at freedom around you? Are there not nations that still have but a glimpse of hope before you? Who will be showing them the way when the Lord comes? For if the Lord finds one of His beloved — one of His spearhead movement — with them in the lead up to that great day, He will bring a blessing beyond measure for them. He will do this because they listened and responded to the call that was before them — to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.

May you, as a member of this spearhead movement, as a member of the body of Christ, and as a son or daughter of the Lord, be eternally blessed, for the day of the Lord is near. May you rejoice with your neighbour in the Lord’s presence, may you rejoice with your family in His presence. May you be found as one who loved the Lord and his neighbour as he did himself. Go in the fullness of the Spirit, go in the fullness of the Word, and look to the skies, for the spring rains are upon you. You will be raised up out of the soil and into the fullness of Christ. After the latter rains, there will be no more early rains as before.

We are entering the time for the gathering of the harvest. Fear the Lord your God, for this fear is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom. Fear the Lord and you will find counsel and might. Fear the Lord and He will keep you in these days.

The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives within you, so be strong and courageous. Do not keep such things to yourself. May there be a collision of encounter with the Spirit and knowledge of the Word over your life. We are a movement who will see the greatest revival this world has ever seen, a people who will emphasise both Word and Spirit.

Let that revival start in you.

It’s time to rise. Be the Spearhead.

    Yours faithfully,

    Shannon.

  • The Vision of the Spearheads

    To the Spearheads,

A vision came to me that I must share with you. It’s where this movement all started. I pray it speaks to you and encourages you to be a part of a spearhead movement for our Lord.

On a cool, quiet Saturday evening in September, I found myself deep in prayer.

Suddenly, I felt Him show me this picture in the Spirit, a vision that would give me purpose and a mission for the coming hour. How can I begin to describe what this vision was like? It did not feel like a dream or a movie being shown on a wide screen. It was as real as anything I have ever experienced. I was watching and yet I was involved in it at the same time.

    Here is what I saw:

I was riding a horse through what felt like a dark wasteland. I was suited up in a dazzling coat of armour and held a long spear out in front of me. This giant weapon must have weighed 100 pounds or more, and I knew that its great size was matched by its importance. As I looked down the spear in front of me, I could see that its tip was engulfed by a great, vibrant flame.

Further out in front of me was a mighty golden kingdom, and I knew this was my destination. I glanced behind me and saw hundreds of other horsemen in formation, all carrying spears of their own, and all pointing forward at the golden kingdom, which seemed to glow and shine in the otherwise dark and drab atmosphere. My heart welled up in my chest as I watched the spectacle unfold all around me.

We were all riding forward with a sense of tremendous urgency. Clearly, we were on an important mission. However, between us and this kingdom of light were throngs of lifeless people who seemed to be wandering aimlessly across the wasteland. Deep sadness showed on their faces, and they seemed to have no idea where they were going. We just kept riding through them as we drew closer to our destination.

Then something powerful happened. As the horsemen rode through these wandering men and women and touched them with their fiery spears, these lifeless souls joined the ranks of the horsemen. Having received their own horses, their own suits of armour and their own spears with fire, they now rode with us toward the great kingdom.

What a thrill it was to see those lost souls transformed into warriors for the Lord. Their blank, confused looks were gone, replaced by expressions of courage, purpose, and determination.

Overjoyed by what was happening, I lifted my spear to the sky. Several of my companions did the same. And that was when everything changed. The flames that engulfed the tips of our spears began to sputter and smoke as if they were about to go out. We were still riding through these wandering souls, yet none of them were being transformed or added to the formation. I noticed that my speed had slowed considerably as I rode toward the golden kingdom. It was like a dream where you are trying as hard as you can to run but seem to be stuck to the same spot. I could feel a strong force pushing against me, and confusion began to rise in me. I had no idea what I was supposed to do, but then it came to me that I should hold my spear back out in front of me, as it had been when I started out on this journey. All around me, my fellow warriors did the same, and as they did their spears flamed back to life. We rode with haste once more and many souls were transformed into warriors for the Lord.

As the vision faded away, I found myself on my knees in my prayer room. “Lord,” I asked, “what does this mean?”

He answered quickly, telling me that He was about to raise up an army of warriors who would act as the spearhead for a great movement of the Holy Spirit. The flame that had engulfed the spear tips in my vision represented the fire of the Holy Spirit. Juts like the spear, as long as the Holy Spirit was out in front, leading us, many who were touched by the fire would be added to the Kingdom of God.

    But there was a warning:

“When you lifted the spear and it was no longer out in front of you, you were trying to do things in your own power, without the Spirit of the Lord leading you. When you do this, your energy will dissipate and you will find yourself struggling to move forward. You will not be able to win souls for the kingdom, and many will fall away. You must have the spear and the fire of the Holy Spirit out in front of you at all times.”

I stood up from where I was praying and felt both joy and the heavy weight of responsibility on my shoulders. I knew that God had not given me this vision for my personal edification, but because He wanted and expected me to share it with others. I felt humbled and blessed to think that God had entrusted me with this important word for His people. I understood how Jeremiah felt when God called him to speak, and he said, “Ah Sovereign Lord, I do not know how to speak: I am only a child.” God responded by telling him not to be afraid, for “I am with you and will rescue you.”

I also remembered very clearly the words I had received from my dear brothers some six months earlier. This vision was showing me the fulfilment of those prophecies. There was going to be a spearhead movement of the Holy Spirit. It would cut through the things of the world and allow others to find and follow the route to the Kingdom of God.

As I thought about what the Lord had shown me, I felt the Spirit infusing me with zeal. How wonderful it would be to bring clarity, faith, and mission to a people who would see mighty things in the days to come. My faith had been stirred.

This is not just a vision for me. For all who are reading this, feeling their spirit stirred, this is for you. Let the Spirit of the Lord lead you, as encounter and knowledge of Him collide – You will see a fresh zeal and commissioning over your life into the days He has prepared for you.

It’s time to rise. Be the Spearhead.

    Yours faithfully,

    Shannon.
